Sponsor 20 inquisitive southern Alberta farmers on the Farming Smarter Technical Tour in Brazil.
This tour gives local farmers the opportunity to learn about numerous agricultural systems and crops from cooperatives, research institutions, and farms in three Brazilian provinces.
Have your business, represented by your logo, support local farmers as they tour efforts made in Brazil to improve soil health and fertility in no-till systems.
Farming Smarter offers limited sponsorship opportunities to businesses that want their logo to go international with 20 committed innovators and influencers. Jamie Puchinger wants to raise $10,000 for the trip. You can claim the whole package and be the sole sponsor!
From October 15 to 30, participants will visit Curitiba, Ponta Grossa, Guarapuava, Cascavel, Foz do Iguaçú, Cuiabá, Campo Verde, Rondonópolis, and Rio de Janeiro.
It’s a unique experience that lets producers learn from innovators in another country and build valuable connections.
“In Brazil, they obviously have a different climate and they do things differently, but there are many similarities and we grow a lot of the same crops,” explains Farming Smarter assistant manager Jamie Puchinger.
“We’ll get to talk to Brazilian farmers about the systems in use, find out how they operate and see if there are practices worth implementing here in Southern Alberta.”
The tour will make stops at a wide variety of farming operations, an agriculture machinery manufacturer, research facilities and processing plants.
Farming Smarter teamed up with Missão Agritours, a Brazilian company that organizes agricultural tours throughout the world, to organize the trip. Last year, Missão Agritours brought farmers from Argentina to visit Farming Smarter.
Missão Agritours owner Francisco Klein Silva, also known as Chico, says the tour of Brazil will provide plenty of valuable experiences for the Canadian visitors.
“I think they have lots to learn in Brazil,” he states.
Klein Silva says Brazil has a large and well-developed agricultural industry throughout the country and this tour will only scratch the surface of what happens there.
Of course, the trip will also offer participants the opportunity experience local culture and enjoy some of Brazil’s world-famous tourist attractions including Iguazu Falls and Rio de Janeiro.
