Farming Smarter Gaining Expertise
Farming Smarter has history now working with precision planters. It’s first project began in 2016 as small plot trials and moved to field scale in 2020. In the latest Plot Shot video, Lewis Baarda provided an update on a dryland Field Tested precision planting project. It has seen roughly an inch of moisture since the seeding Plot Shot back in May.
This heat wave provides an excellent opportunity for us to learn the effects of extreme heat on these crops. Because precision planters can measure the depth and seed placement, these variables could have an effect on how the crop handles the heat.
If you want to take a tour of an early canola trial, we have an immersive 360 video that gives you a walkthrough of our trials with information scattered throughout.
